Album Notes The SPG label combined both volumes of Disco Fever to make a 42-track, two-disc package. Most of the selections are long-established classics -- Tavares' "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel," Carol Douglas' "Doctor's Orders," Donna Summer's "Bad Girls," Earth, Wind & Fire's "Boogie Wonderland," Rose Royce's "Car Wash" -- but it also features less-recognized singles that should be just as familiar with the average disco fan (Machine's "There but for the Grace of God Go I," Sister Sledge's "He's the Greatest Dancer," Sylvester's "Dance [Disco Heat]"). It would be a thankless task sniffing out the be-all, end-all introduction to disco, but one could do far worse than this. ~ Andy Kellman |
