The story follows a mixed group of 25 passengers on a bus who become trapped in a cave-in following a motor accident. While trapped, they enter a state of suspended animation and wake up one million years in the future. They discover that the human species has gone entirely extinct, leaving behind a world where biological evolution has run wild.
